Hidden Chest Studio is a Kuala Lumpur game development studio building in Unity and Godot for PC, mobile, and web. Hire our team for full-cycle production or embedded dev support — the same team building our own flagship IP, Midwest 90: Rapid City.
Most studios that offer game dev support don't ship their own titles, and most studios chasing their own IP don't take on client work. Hidden Chest Studio does both. We're currently building Midwest 90: Rapid City, a tycoon survival simulator set in a 1990s American Midwest town, available to wishlist on Steam — and that same engine expertise in Unity and Godot is what we bring to client and partner projects.
Our Game Dev Support service covers programming, 2D/3D art, and animation for teams that need extra hands, slotting into an existing pipeline at any stage from prototyping to production. That's the option for studios who want to hire game developers without handing over the whole project. On the other end, our Custom App/Game Dev service delivers iOS, Android, and web builds end-to-end, using game-grade technology applied to full software products.
Our shipped work spans mobile and web: inQubi, a mobile pet game; Tycoon Zone, a mobile crypto game; and Oasis Vanguard, a web-based crypto game. On the enterprise side, we built LOFINDER, a brand gamification project for AirAsia, and a bespoke interactive installation for Khazanah Nasional at Carcosa Seri Negara — proof that our Unity and Godot capability extends well past traditional PC and mobile titles into interactive brand experiences.
Hidden Chest Studio was founded in 2020, is based in Kuala Lumpur, and has shipped 5+ projects, earned 6 industry awards, and been covered by The Star, Vulcan Post, Free Malaysia Today, The Sun, and IGN. Every build — whether it's our own IP or a client's — is run directly by one of our three co-founders, so the people scoping your project are the same people writing the code.
We build primarily in Unity and Godot, choosing the engine based on the project's platform targets and technical needs. Our flagship IP, Midwest 90: Rapid City, is being built with this same engine expertise and is on Steam.
Yes. Our Game Dev Support service is built for exactly this — programming, 2D/3D art, and animation support that slots into an existing pipeline at any stage, from prototyping to production, for teams that need extra hands rather than a full outsourced build.
Both. We've shipped full end-to-end projects, including mobile titles like Tycoon Zone and Oasis Vanguard, and we also work as an embedded support team for studios and brands that already have their own pipeline in place.
We build for PC and Steam, mobile (iOS and Android), and web. inQubi and Tycoon Zone are examples of our mobile work, and Oasis Vanguard is a web title, alongside our own PC title Midwest 90: Rapid City.
Every project starts with a direct conversation with one of our three co-founders about scope, platform, and timeline, since we don't outsource project management. From there we scope the build around what's realistic for your budget and deadline rather than a fixed package.
Tell us about your platform, scope, and timeline — we'll get back to you within 1–2 business days.
